Neck pillow, sleeping pills and earplugs (foam earplugs are included in your amenity kit from Turkish Airlines, along with slippers, socks, lip balm, eye (sleeping mask), toothbrush and toothpaste, blanket and pillow for every traveler.
Items to pack for trip:
Bathing suit and water shoes
Body washcloths (Israel does not use washcloths—so there are none, just hand towels. We recommend a couple of washcloths and/or bath scrubbie).
Evenings in Jerusalem and in the north by the Sea of Galilee can be cool. It is a good idea to pack a light weight sweater or jacket.
We provide you with a baseball type hat in white. If you want something more fashionable or with floppy brim, bring your own or purchase one there (they are everywhere).
For ladies, capris are acceptable everywhere, but you might want one pair long jeans or slacks. Skirts and tops with sleeves—sleeveless tops will require a shawl or jacket for churches or holy sites in some areas. As long as you have short sleeves you are okay.
Shorts are acceptable MOST places, but not at the holy sites in Jerusalem. Your guide will tell you the night before if you need long pants (guys) or capris (ladies). At the Western Wall no shorts or sleeveless tops are permitted for either gender.
Our rule of thumb is ½ as many bottoms as tops because you can usually wear pants twice. One outfit per day. Two pairs of shoes. One jacket/sweater.
Comfortable shoes that you have worn before. Sneakers are recommended. Open toes are okay as long as they have a back strap. This is for safety sake as you will be doing a lot of walking on uneven surfaces.
Take your best attitude and be ready to try new foods.
Take your notebook to capture your thoughts and help you remember after you return home.
